Each chapter includes 6 different literacy exercises that focus on the key word present in the given song’s lyrics. Philosophy
We believe in a “Low-Stress Brings Success” approach to studying, and we encourage students to use the answer keys rather than have them pass on answering a question. Since they see a song’s lyric’s key words in each of the 6 exercises in a given chapter, we recommend that students to look up answers they don’t know. If they don’t get it the first time, they will get it the second time or the third time. The important fact is that the students will find out what the answer IS, and after coming across it again and again, they WILL learn it, and it will STAY with them. This practice enables us to encourage students of all abilities to regard themselves as successful learners.

Getting The Most Out of Vocabulary Accelerator
There are two key aspects to helping your students take advantage of Vocabulary Accelerator's unique approach:
When introducing Defined Mind to your student, start by playing the CD without mentioning the exercises. Then, when s/he begin to ask about it, then, present the book. This step will serve to draw them into the materials.
Encourage your student to utilize the chapter dictionaries and answer keys if she doesn’t know a word. Each chapter focuses on a single song, presenting the key words several times within the contexts of 6 different exercises, so students have multiple opportunities to learn the new words and their usage. By reducing stress and enabling success, students use the material more readily, and they gain the opportunity to enhance their self-esteem and self-image as "learners."
